Colourful Houses on the Road to Colchester

Colourful Houses on the Road to Colchester

I’m also just a girl, standing in front of a boy, asking him to love her.

Anna Scott (aka Julia Roberts) in Notting Hill

Even though I’d been staying in Notting Hill, I’d not yet explored this little section of London. Since I had some time before my train to Colchester, I left my luggage with the front desk and went exploring for a few hours.

It took awhile and exploring some serious back alleys and walkways (called Mews) to find some of the quaint little photos you’ve seen on TV or read about and are associated with Notting Hill. The picture on the right is the store the Travel Bookshop was created in for the movie (it still has the sign above, they’ve not removed it).

After a sausage roll whilst wandering through the Portobello Road Market, I stopped at the Hummingbird Cafe to have a slice of their Rainbow Cake! It was super tasty and colourful just like the houses here.

Surrounded by all the beauty of Notting Hill, it sadly was time for my London adventures to end (how has it been 5 days already) and for me to head to Colchester for one of my best friend’s wedding weekends. Needless to say I was quite excited to see my friend, and others I knew that evening.

Before this post ends, I’ve left the best of Notting Hill last (there had to be more!). These last few photos deserve full size viewing instead of the gallery so I’ll end my day here and let you view the adorable and beautiful houses of Notting Hill.
